Causes:
Joint dysfunction can commonly present as joint pain or discomfort and can occur in a variety of different extremities including the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, ankle and foot. This can result from injury, repetitive strain or sprains and improper mechanics.
Joint degeneration can occur in most people as they age. Degeneration of the joint surface, for example, can be accompanied by an overgrowth of bone, narrowing of the joint space and deformity of the joint.
