Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Michelle Cruickshank graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree, in Human Kinetics in 2008. Michelle continued her studies at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College completing her four years of study with an academic distinction of cum laude, graduating as a Doctor of Chiropractic. She was also recognized for her excellence in patient diagnosis, care and education by receiving the following awards throughout her final clinical year; the College of Chiropractic Sciences External Clinic Award, the Ontario Chiropractic Association award and the Collaborative Patient Care Award.
Dr. Cruickshank specializes in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of various neuromusculoskeletal conditions, including sprains/strains, back pain and neck pain, sports related injuries and rehabilitation. Her clinical evaluation will include a thorough history of your chief compliant and health as well as a complete physical examination. Her treatment can include chiropractic manipulation of the spine and extremities, exercise prescription, modalities, customized orthotics, soft tissue therapy including instrument assisted and lifestyle advice. Dr. Cruickshank has also completed training in Clinical Acupuncture at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College.
Dr. Cruickshank prides herself on maintaining an active role within the community she resides. She has most recently volunteered as a health care provider with the People with Aids Foundation (PWA) Friends for Life Bike Rally. She provided care to the various cyclists who travelled from Toronto to Montreal in support of HIV/Aids Research. Being active is an important aspect in Michelle’s life and is something that she encourages with all of her patients.
Dr. Cruickshank continues to stay updated in the latest research and clinical evidence in order to provider her patients with the most optimal care. It is important for her to maintain a patient centred care facility focusing on the individuals needs of each patient in order to achieve optimal health.
Outside of the clinic Dr. Cruickshank enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as participating in a variety of outdoor activities. Some of her favourites include competitive volleyball, camping, cycling and downhill skiing.
