Lisa Machek MC, RSW
Lisa graduated with a Master of Counselling from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington and also has a Bachelor of Social Work with a Child Welfare Specialization from Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia. Her additional training includes Collaborative Divorce and Conflict Resolution. She is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers as well as a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Lisa is excited and pleased to be joining the team The Natural Way Health Clinic. She is passionate about working with people and exploring the complexities and wonder that make up our lives. With ten years experience as a social worker and three years working as a mental health and substance use counsellor, she has had the privilege of assisting individuals, children, families and groups in a variety of situations and circumstances.
Lisa has a belief in the uniqueness of each person and strives to discover and work with the style of counselling that makes your life happier, more satisfying and enjoyable. She uses a variety of techniques grounded in person centered, strength based and mindful practices including Cognitive Behavioural, Dialectical Behavioural and Solution-focussed therapies. With these techniques, she can help you address issues of anxiety, depression, addictive behaviours, relationships, stress, anger, grief and self-esteem. Lisa enjoys connections with people and nature and has an appreciation for all the beauty that surrounds us.
