Acupressure
Acupuncture and
acupressure both use the same points and channels. While
acupuncture uses needles to stimulate energy, acupressure uses the
gentler but still effective approach of applying firm pressure,
without the use of a needle. In this way, acupressure is a
technique that, once taught, can be used at home to aide in the
relief of symptoms.
Acupressure
points can also be applied to the ear (called auricular
acupressure). This form of acupressure is done with ear seeds since
the area is highly innervated making the points extremely specific.
Once the seed is placed by your practitioner, it is easy to use
pressure to stimulate the point for relief throughout the day.
