Robyn graduated
from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (Kitchener) in 2006.
Since then she has been a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) with the
College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). Robyn has also been a
member of the Ontario Massage Therapist Association (OMTA) since 2006 and is
a member of the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce.
Robyn is
continually attending courses in the massage therapy field in order to stay
current with new techniques and styles and enhance her treatment skills. As
a massage therapist Robyn believes it is very important to pursue continued
education in all facets of the industry.
Working in a
multi-disciplinary clinic like The Natural Way has given Robyn the
opportunity to work with other alternative healthcare practitioners with
similar values and goals to provide an overlapping approach to treatment for
the best results possible. Robyn’s style of treatment involves a balance
between a therapeutic and relaxing approach incorporating techniques such as
deep tissue and Swedish massage, trigger point release, manual lymph
drainage, hyrdrotherapy and remedial exercise. Her treatment areas of
interest include pre and post-natal massage, sport injury rehabilitation and
prevention and stress relief. She has take courses for the treatment of
scoliosis and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction as well as
Biomechanics and Human Locomotion.
With a background
in dance training Robyn has always shown interest in the movement and
function of the human body and its boundaries. With over 20 years of dance
training Robyn has a keen understanding of biomechanics and range of motion
which she incorporates into her massage treatments. As well as being an RMT,
Robyn also teaches dance in Waterloo to a variety of students of all ages.
